After a long winter in storage, your motorcycle needs a once-over before it’s ready for the road. Here’s what we check — and what you can check yourself — before the first ride of the season.
1. Tires
Check for cracking, flat spots from sitting, and proper tire pressure. Old rubber loses grip even if the tread looks fine.
2. Brakes
Inspect pad thickness and brake fluid condition. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which can affect performance.
3. Battery
A battery that sat all winter may not hold a full charge. Test it and charge or replace it if needed.
4. Fluids
Check oil level and condition, coolant (if liquid-cooled), and brake fluid.
5. Chain or Belt
Clean, lubricate, and check tension on your drive chain, or inspect belt condition.
6. Lights & Signals
Test your headlight, brake light, and turn signals before you’re back in traffic.
7. Controls & Cables
Make sure your throttle, clutch, and brake levers move smoothly with no sticking.
8. A Full Inspection
When in doubt, bring it in. Our seasonal tune-up service covers all of the above and more, so you can ride with confidence.
